Parkin has begun installing more than 500 smart curb-side and pole-mounted cameras across some of Dubai’s busiest areas, including the Burj Khalifa, Dubai World Trade Centre and Al Corniche, as part of a wider smart parking initiative.

The solar-powered curb-side cameras, the first of their kind in the region, can automatically read vehicle number plates, track entry and exit times, process parking payments and detect parking violations in real time. The systems are fully integrated with the Parkin app, allowing users to make automatic payments through the Parkin Wallet.

Parkin said the new technology is expected to improve parking availability, reduce congestion and make parking management more efficient through real-time occupancy tracking and automated enforcement.

Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, said the rollout reflects the company’s focus on advanced smart technologies to improve parking services across Dubai and support the emirate’s vision for smarter urban mobility.

The first phase of the project aims to reduce time spent searching for parking, lower the risk of fines and create a faster, more seamless parking experience for residents and visitors.
