The UAE marked Flag Day on Tuesday, November 3, with ceremonies and flag-raising events across government institutions, schools, universities and communities throughout the country.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led a flag-raising ceremony at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by the national anthem. The event was attended by 55 accomplished individuals from different sectors, representing the 55 years since the establishment of the Union.

Flag Day is observed annually as a symbol of national unity, sovereignty, loyalty and pride. The occasion brings together Emiratis and residents from different nationalities in a shared celebration of the UAE and its achievements.

Dubai’s Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum had called on residents, households, schools and institutions to raise the national flag as part of the nationwide observance.

Although widely celebrated across the country, Flag Day is not an official public holiday. Offices, schools and businesses continue to operate according to their normal schedules.
