Demand for large-screen televisions has surged in the UAE ahead of the Fifa World Cup next month, with sales of bigger models rising by up to 40 per cent, according to retailers and e-commerce platforms.

Industry players say demand is being driven by both individual consumers and commercial venues such as cafés, restaurants, hotels and sports bars preparing for the global football tournament.

Retailers including Eros Group reported a 10–20 per cent increase in sales of larger panels compared to last year, with strong interest in 75-inch to 98-inch models. CEO Rajat Asthana said shrinking price gaps between mid-range and premium sizes have encouraged more customers to upgrade.

Jumbo Electronics confirmed sustained demand for 75-inch to 98-inch TVs since early 2026, noting a growing preference for immersive home entertainment experiences.

Sony Middle East and Africa said the trend is also supported by a natural replacement cycle, as many households upgrade TVs purchased during the Covid-19 period, alongside rising demand for cinema-style viewing at home.

Samsung Gulf Electronics highlighted particularly strong momentum in ultra-large screens, including 100-inch and 115-inch models, as consumers aim to recreate a stadium-like experience. The company added that demand is also strong from hospitality businesses upgrading displays for public viewing.

E-commerce platform Noon reported over 40 per cent year-on-year growth in 75-inch-plus TV sales, with expectations of further demand closer to the tournament. It also noted potential supply constraints on premium models due to global shortages.

While prices have increased slightly due to supply chain pressures and higher manufacturing costs, retailers say competition and promotional offers are expected to keep the market active through the World Cup and Eid season.
