Emirates unveils electric Premium Economy seat

Emirates has introduced a new electrically adjustable Premium Economy seat featuring a full-height privacy divider between adjoining passengers.

The seats will debut on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft. Each Premium Economy cabin will contain 28 seats in a 2-3-2 arrangement.

Seats measure 20 inches across and provide up to 39 inches of pitch. Their cradle-style recline is designed to avoid intruding into the row behind.

Passengers can raise, lower and lock the privacy screen electronically. Seat-position controls also include dedicated lounge and meal settings.

Other additions include an adjustable leather headrest, footrest, wireless charging, USB-C power and a tray table incorporating a telephone holder. Entertainment is delivered through a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen.

The new product will initially be limited to newly received A350s. Travellers should therefore confirm the aircraft and cabin configuration assigned to their flight rather than assuming every Premium Economy booking includes the updated seat.
