Dubai’s sports community joined a major humanitarian initiative at the Dubai World Trade Centre, helping prepare more than 10 million meals for people in Gaza.
The Ahmed bin Rashid Humanitarian Bridge was organised by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in cooperation with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. Community members, volunteers and sports figures took part in preparing food aid packages for families and children in Gaza.
The initiative was held in memory of the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who played a significant role in the development of Dubai’s sporting landscape.
Sheikh Ahmed founded Al Wasl Club and was also involved in the development of several major sporting institutions, including Jebel Ali Racecourse, the Al Adiyat Centre, the Dubai Horse Racing Centre and the Dubai International Marine Club.
The humanitarian initiative brought together his sporting legacy and a wider community effort to provide food assistance to people in Gaza, with organisers highlighting volunteering and collective action as key elements of the campaign.
