The UAE entered the autumn season on 23 September as forecasters warned of thick fog in parts of the country.
The National Centre of Meteorology issued red and yellow alerts, with visibility expected to deteriorate in some coastal and internal areas until the morning. Fair to partly cloudy conditions were forecast, with convective clouds possible over eastern and southern areas later in the day.
Temperatures were expected to reach about 39°C in Dubai, 41°C in Abu Dhabi and 40°C in Sharjah. Motorists were advised to take extra care during periods of reduced visibility
