Dubai landlords, property managers and leasing offices cannot impose an administrative or processing fee simply because a tenancy contract is being renewed.
A separate service fee charged by a real-estate agent may apply when the tenant or landlord has specifically appointed the agent to negotiate or prepare renewal documents, subject to the agreement between them.
Ejari registration costs remain payable separately. Online registration through the Dubai REST application or official website costs Dh177.75, while registration through a Real Estate Services Trustee Centre costs Dh220.
Any rent increase must comply with the applicable rental index, and the landlord must provide at least 90 days’ written notice before changing the rent or other tenancy terms.
