The UAE shut down around 200 social media accounts promoting unlicensed domestic worker recruitment and employment services during the first half of 2026, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) said.
The accounts were closed in cooperation with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority after authorities found they were offering services without the required licences or links to MoHRE-approved recruitment offices.
MoHRE said it is using field inspections, electronic monitoring, tracking systems and artificial intelligence to detect illegal practices in the domestic worker services sector.
The ministry urged families and employers to verify social media recruitment offers before making payments and to use licensed recruitment offices, which operate under regulated contracts, prices and procedures.
