Skilled professionals seeking employment in the UAE can apply for a job-exploration visit visa without first obtaining sponsorship from a local employer.

The single-entry visa is available for periods of 60, 90 or 120 days, allowing eligible applicants to attend interviews, participate in recruitment processes and develop professional contacts from within the country.

Applicants generally need at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification and must be seeking employment classified within skill levels 1, 2 or 3 under the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation system.

Recent graduates may also qualify if they completed their studies within the previous two years at a university ranked among the world’s top 500 institutions. Evidence of sufficient funds to support the stay may be required.

Documents typically include a passport valid for at least six months, recent photographs, attested educational certificates and proof of financial means where requested.

Applications can be submitted through the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai or the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security.

An extension may be possible under applicable regulations, potentially increasing the total stay to 180 days, but approval is not automatic. The visa also does not guarantee employment.

Jobseekers should apply only through official channels and avoid agents claiming they can guarantee either a visa or a job.
