A unified tourist visa allowing overseas visitors to travel through all six Gulf Cooperation Council countries is expected to be introduced soon.
The planned permit would provide access to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait through a single application, creating a regional arrangement broadly comparable with Europe’s Schengen visa.
It could make multi-country holidays and family visits considerably easier for expatriate residents, including Sri Lankans living in the UAE who want to combine trips across the Gulf.
However, no confirmed launch date, price, validity period or application process has been announced. Existing visa requirements therefore remain in force.
Travellers should wait for official application channels to open and avoid paying agents offering advance permits or guaranteed approvals.
