The UAE’s Cybersecurity Council said national cybersecurity systems had detected and thwarted advanced, organised cyberattacks targeting the aviation, energy and education sectors.
The attacks involved attempts to breach digital infrastructure, target accounts and operational data, conduct phishing campaigns and exploit users as entry points.
The council said the attacks were detected and contained immediately, with national cybersecurity teams tracking the attackers’ activities and taking measures to neutralise the threats and prevent their spread.
It added that the attacks were stopped before they could achieve their objectives or disrupt critical systems and services.
