Dubai WhatsApp parking payments are saving drivers a fortune as about 80 per cent of the payments are now done via mobile phone apps and text messages.
According to Time Out Dubai, the claim, from a top official, comes as about 9,000 payments a day are done through WhatsApp.
This mode of payment lets you save the 30-fil charge that comes with paying via an SMS text message.
It comes as all public parking machines in Dubai now have touch screens so drivers can get e-tickets, as part of a host of measures introduced by the Road and Transport Authority (RTA).
Looking ahead, the RTA is hoping to launch several new initiatives by 2024 – including a smart payment system for multi-storey parking buildings. (NewsWire)
