Dubai Police issued 48,950 fines to motorists driving vehicles with expired registration during the first 10 months of 2026.

Authorities said expired registration can mean vehicles are being driven without the required technical inspections, potentially leaving mechanical problems involving tyres, brakes, lights or steering undetected.

Motorists caught driving with expired registration face a Dh500 fine, four traffic points and seven days of vehicle impoundment.

Police urged vehicle owners to monitor registration and insurance expiry dates and complete inspections and renewals on time. Online services allow motorists to check outstanding fines and complete renewal procedures.

The warning is particularly relevant to residents who may overlook registration deadlines while travelling or managing multiple vehicles.
