A new pedestrian link has opened in Dubai, making it easier for passengers to transfer between the Metro and Etihad Rail’s Al Yalayis Station at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
The elevated footbridge connects Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station with the Etihad Rail station, replacing the temporary shuttle arrangement previously used between the two locations.
The 400-metre connection is designed to provide a more direct interchange between the two transport systems. Three new bus routes have also been introduced in Sharjah to improve access to Etihad Rail stations.
The development is part of wider efforts to integrate Dubai’s public transport network with the UAE’s national railway system. For commuters, the improved connections could make rail travel more convenient by reducing the need for separate road transfers between stations.
Etihad Rail’s passenger network is expected to play an increasingly important role in connecting major UAE cities as services expand.
