UAE motorists are paying substantially more for fuel from October 1, with petrol prices rising for a third consecutive month.
Super 98 is now Dh4.40 a litre, compared with Dh3.80 in September. Special 95 has increased to Dh4.28 from Dh3.69, while E-Plus 91 is Dh4.21, up from Dh3.61. Diesel has also risen to Dh4.80 a litre from Dh4.30.
The latest increases come as global oil prices remain elevated amid continuing regional uncertainty. Brent crude approached $110 a barrel during September, while disruptions and tensions around major shipping routes have continued to influence energy markets.
For UAE residents, the higher prices are likely to have a direct impact on monthly transport budgets, particularly for commuters who depend on private vehicles. The increase also comes as many households are already managing higher day-to-day expenses.
