Travellers flying from the UAE are facing another round of delays and cancellations, with disruptions reported at Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport.
Several Emirates, flydubai, Air India, Ethiopian Airlines and SpiceJet services were delayed on Wednesday morning. Air Arabia also reported cancellations affecting some Kuwait and Bahrain services, while flydubai cancelled a Dubai–Abha flight.
Air France has extended its suspension of Dubai services until October 24, while Cathay Pacific has cancelled Dubai and Riyadh passenger services through January 31, 2027. Air Canada has extended its Dubai suspension until the end of March 2027.
Passengers have been advised to check their individual flight status directly with their airline before leaving for the airport, even if they already have a confirmed booking.
This is particularly relevant to Sri Lankan expatriates travelling between the UAE and Sri Lanka, as well as those connecting through Dubai or Abu Dhabi to other destinations.
