Traffic-related deaths in the UAE declined by 74 per cent between 2011 and 2025, according to newly released national figures.

Authorities attributed the decline to updated traffic legislation, improved roads, smart enforcement, artificial-intelligence monitoring and public-awareness campaigns conducted across the emirates.

The UAE is working towards the international target of halving road deaths and serious injuries by 2030 and aims to rank among the world’s three best-performing countries for road fatalities.

Recent campaigns have focused on tyre safety, vehicle maintenance, speed limits, safe following distances and the risks of leaving children unattended in vehicles.
