Businesses in the UAE must withdraw counterfeit, adulterated or spoiled products within 24 hours after receiving an official notification under new anti-commercial-fraud regulations.
The requirement covers goods displayed or stored in shops and warehouses, as well as products sold through online platforms. Authorities may impose an even shorter deadline when an item threatens public health or the environment.
Suppliers must also issue a public announcement in Arabic and English within 48 hours of withdrawing affected products.
Goods eligible for return to their country of origin or export destination generally must be re-exported within 30 days. Suppliers can be charged for the withdrawal, storage, destruction or other handling of non-compliant items.
If a business fails to act within the specified period, authorities can remove the goods and recover the associated costs from the supplier.
The rules follow 10,023 inspections conducted during the first quarter of 2026, which identified 189 breaches across the country.
