Several UAE schools have moved their October half-term break forward by one week, requiring some families to reconsider travel and childcare arrangements.
Parents at Dubai British School, Safa British School and Arab Unity School were informed that the break will run from Monday, October 12, to Friday, October 16. The previously communicated dates were October 19 to 23.
Schools said the change aligns their schedules with the unified academic calendar applied by the relevant education authorities.
Some parents had already purchased tickets or holiday packages based on the previous dates. Examinations scheduled during the revised break may also proceed as planned, meaning some senior pupils will not receive the full holiday.
Families should verify their own school’s calendar before changing bookings, as arrangements may differ between institutions and emirates.
