Dubai Police will deploy 253 security and traffic patrols as part of an extensive safety operation for the beginning of the 2026–27 academic year.

Twenty-eight drones will monitor traffic and other key locations, while four luxury patrols, five mounted patrols and 65 bicycles will strengthen the police presence around schools.

The operation will involve 775 police personnel and 217 students participating through the Safety Ambassadors programme.

Authorities will also conduct awareness activities covering traffic safety, pedestrian crossings and ways of contacting the police. Nineteen events involving 16 organisations are planned for the first day of school.

Schools across the UAE reopen on August 31. Motorists should expect heavier traffic around school zones, particularly during the morning and afternoon drop-off and collection periods.
