Dubai Police blocked 297 websites promoting illegal drugs during the second quarter of 2026, nearly three times the 110 websites shut down in the first quarter, bringing the total blocked this year to 407.
Police said the crackdown targeted online platforms used to advertise and sell narcotics. Authorities have previously warned that overseas drug dealers use social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook, along with accomplices in the UAE, to reach customers and facilitate transactions.
Dubai Police also shared 125 intelligence reports with international law enforcement agencies during the quarter, leading to the arrest of several suspects overseas.
The figures were presented during a performance review of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics. Officials also said the Hemaya International Centre conducted 95 awareness programmes benefiting more than 467,000 people, while its digital campaigns reached over 8.7 million users.
