UAE authorities have urged visit visa holders who benefited from overstay fine waivers during recent regional flight disruptions to regularise their status or leave the country before July 9.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced a 30-day grace period from June 10 to July 9 for individuals whose overstay fines had been waived due to airspace closures and flight cancellations that prevented them from travelling.
Key points:
• The measure mainly applies to affected visit visa holders.
• It does not form part of the UAE’s regular residence visa grace-period system.
• Eligible individuals can apply for a new legal status or complete employment-related visa procedures.
• Those unable to regularise their status are advised to leave the UAE before July 9 to avoid penalties.
Authorities said normal overstay rules are expected to resume after the deadline.
