Residents in the UAE will be able to order livestock for Eid Al Adha sacrifices online this year, as e-commerce platform Noon launches an online Qurbani service ahead of the festival.
The company has partnered with online butcher store Zabehaty to offer livestock including cows, camels, Kashmiri sheep and Somali sheep, with prices starting from Dh1,050.
Qurbani, also known as Udhiyah, is the Islamic ritual sacrifice performed after Eid Al Adha prayers, with meat traditionally shared among family, neighbours and those in need.
Orders must be placed before May 23, or until stock runs out, with Noon stating that capacity is limited to ensure quality and logistical standards.
Meanwhile, delivery platform Careem is also offering Qurbani services, listing options such as goats, sheep and cows, with prices ranging from Dh1,670 to more than Dh10,000 depending on the animal.
The UAE’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has set official Qurbani rates between Dh350 and Dh800 this year.
Eid Al Adha is expected to fall on May 27.
